NPP primaries: Bongo DCE vows to wrestle parliamentary seat from NDC

A New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant for Bongo Constituency, Peter Ayinbisa, says he is poised to snatch the Bongo constituency seat from National Democratic Congress (NDC) incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Edward Bawa, should he be elected as parliamentary candidate for the 2020 election.

After a number of unsuccessful attempts to capture the seat for the NPP since 1992, the Bongo District Chief Executive, Peter Ayinbisa said he has what it takes to win the seat for the governing party.

I have over the years turned down calls from my people to contest for the parliamentary slot on the ticket of the NPP to represent them in parliament but, this time round, I have decided to contest the seat in order to annex the seat for the first time in the history of the party.

This is my time and I am ready to wrestle power from the incompetent NDC MP Edward Bawa because he has let the Bongo constituency down, the development gap between Bongo and other constituencies cannot be underestimated. That is why I am coming to salvage the people of Bongo.

Mr. Ayinbisa outlined his achievements and contributions to the development of the constituency as the leverage for which delegates will elect him to lead the party to victory come 2020.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ayinbisas main contender, Diana Aburiya, a lecturer at the Bolgatanga Polytechnic and the 2012 parliamentary candidate said she is hopeful of leading the party to victory considering her results in the 2012 elections.

I worked hard with the party members to raise the NPP parliamentary votes from 9,817 in 2008 to 11,118 in 2012 and I urge delegates to vote massively for Diana Aburiya to contest the 2020 parliamentary election and deliver the seat if the NPP really need a Member of Parliament for the constituency.

It is possible for the seat to change hands if our DCE (Peter Ayinbisa) will focus on his job by supporting President Nana Addo to develop the area and support me win the seat. Going by this strategy will earn him

recognition by this government and an award of a deputy ministerial appointment.
